When the winter chill has set in your bones, do you think of me?
Do you think of my smile, the laughs we have shared, the time we have spent together?
As the winter wind blows across your face do you think of summer memories?
The time spent in the sun, laughing and playing like children?
Picnics, playgrounds, talking on an old tire swing as we sway?
Do you remember the smell of the air on that warm summer day?
The flowers and the grass were content with us lying among them.
We whispered secrets and the trees promised to keep them.
We spoke of love and the birds sang a joyous song to celebrate.
We kept each other safe, do you remember?
I can't remember how many winters we've seen together
How many seasons we've weathered with each other.
As the winter becomes bitter it seems so do we.
We walk together but alone, and I have to wonder.
When the winter chill has set in your bones, do you think of me?
